Assuming that everything doesn't happen Automagically, just open NSC (Network and Sharing Center) and follow the bouncing ball.

Randy, thank you for the great advice. Had to jump through hoops to log in for there are no boxes to put my handle and password - just empty space, but then am sending this from an iMac since my laptop doesn't have a modem (it's en route...). Will now visit a hotspot and put it to the test.
