You are aware of the built in "Cleanmgr". This does most of the work, and, hopefully, fairly safely as it is designed for the OS. But better is Ccleaner. You will read reports that it causes errors, etc. It is from a company called Piriform, (Link Removed have been around for many years. I have used it since XP, without mishaps. It can be optimised, so that it will retain your passwords or, if you wish, cookies.

The program is also able to clean up your registry, but I prefer to do this manually or, for the most part, leave it alone.
