If you are a frequent user of Google Chrome, you may recall that there was once an option to mute tabs. Unfortunately, Google decided to disable this feature by default. The reason for this, they claim, is because they did not want the browser to "police content".

Fortunately, however, the functionality can still be enabled.

To re-enable go to: chrome://flags/#enable-tab-audio-muting in your web browser (copy and paste) and enable the option. When the audio icon appears in one of your browser tabs, you can click on it to mute it (i.e. annoying advertisements).

I hope you find this useful!
