Sockwave keeps crashing, how can that be stopped?

You might start by disabling it in your browser and then seeing if there is an update. The last update I show in Firefox was Oct. 2012.

I am using google chrome, where can I find it?

If Chrome has an Add-ons options page, you might be able to get it through there, otherwise, look on the Shockwave Flash page..

I tried typing in chromelugins in the address bar, nothing happens. May be I should just remove Adobe flash player.

You tried opening the Add-on/Plugins section in Chrome and there is no reference to Shockwave Flash?

Maybe, as you suggest, just go straight to Adobe.
