Hi
Recently I created a new program thinking it was an additional one. It wiped a lot of my original program files, some of which I reloaded from disk, but a number which I couldn’t.
Today I ran a program called “Glary utilities” which analyses the system. In “disk space analyser” there are 2 options,
“files and folders -all types” which show my current visible programs, and “show all files- all types” which show all the missing programs, listing the correct capacities and using up disk space.
They use extensions .mpg .mov and .wmv.
I am unable to open them, although .wmv and .mov do play on my PC
It seems they are still on the PC but where are they ? and how can I retrieve them

Please advise

If some of your program files are missing after creating a new program, and Glary Utilities is showing those files with extensions like .mpg, .mov, and .wmv, you might be dealing with hidden files or files that aren't being displayed for various reasons. Here's what you can do to potentially retrieve and access these files: 1. Show Hidden Files: - Sometimes, files might be hidden from view. You can enable the display of hidden files in Windows: - Open File Explorer. - Select the "View" tab at the top. - Check the box for "Hidden items" in the "Show/hide" group. 2. Search for Files: - Use the Windows search feature to look for specific file names: - Press "Windows key + S" to open the search bar. - Enter the name of the...

Check Manual File Locations: - If you know the specific folders where these files were located initially, navigate to those folders to see if they are still there. 4. Recover Deleted Files: - If the files were accidentally deleted, you might consider using a data recovery tool like Recuva, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, or Disk Drill to attempt recovering the deleted files. 5. Restore from Backup: - If you have a backup strategy in place, you can restore the missing files from your backups, especially if you regularly back up your system. 6. File Recovery Services: - If the files are crucial and you can't recover them using the above methods, consider professional data recovery services that could help retrieve lost files. Before attempting any recovery methods, ensure that you are cautious to avoid overwriting the missing files. It's also essential to regularly back up your important files to prevent future data loss incidents.
