Word files were encrypted while on a Win XP PC. PC Died and data was "backed up", Windows 7 was installed. Now the files are all gibberish. Am I screwed?

If it was EFS encryption (NTFS) I possibly can help you but you would have to send me the files for me to decrypt them as the tool I use is not public or free, so you would have to entrust your data to me for me to decrypt it then send it back if successful.

Also to help the decryption process I would need the old Username and Password of the account that was used in XP to encrypt them, this will help decrypt the files much faster!

While residing on a PC running XP, the user right clucked on a folder containing all of the files and encrypted them through properties. I can send you the drives. Please advise & thanks.
