When I boot the pc (or get out of sleep mode) I want to see the login screen, like on win 7. I don;t want to see that multicolourfull lollipop screen which you need to click again to get to the login screen.
go to Charm bar > select Start > type gpedit.msc > click gpedit.msc > left panel.....
expand (click the pointer in front of ) Computer configuration
expand Administrative Templates
expand Control Panel click at Personalization
right panel > double click Do not display the lock screen
at the popup box, click Enable > click OK
exit local group policy editor window.
That's it.
Yes, that is what you need to do..... go to Start page.
Ignore all those "tiles".
Have some faith and take my words for it......
Type gpedit.msc ( you don't need to find the search box. Just type.), and follow the rest of my instructions.
Carsten888 - Do you have Win 8 Pro or plain Win 8? I think the reason you don't find the group policy editor is because it is only included in Win 8 Pro.
