How to UPGRADE to Win7 7260 RTM - You Do Not Have To Do A Fresh Install !!!

In order to upgrade to 7260 from - ANY - previous version do the followings:
1. extract iso to a folder
2. right click on setup and properties
3. on compatibility check run this program in compatibility mode and select vista sp2
4. check also the option "Run this program as an administrator"
5. run setup and enjoy Link Removed due to 404 Error

I just did it and it works GREAT.

The UPGRADE procedure takes about 2-1/2 hours.

You Do Not Have To Do A Fresh Install To Get 7260 RTM.

I UPGRADED from 7100 RC to 7260 RTM. :)

If You UPGRADE You Do Not Have To Re-Install ALL Your APPS Again !!!

7260 may not be the RTM. The rtm could be any of the 726x builds. We have to wait till July to find out what the final RTM build will be signed off as. Also how will it take that long. Windows 7 on its own through custom only takes 30 mins tops.

Installing applications again is more worth it than living with a glitchy OS; upgrading will produce more glitches in any case with two test builds. You can only really test and experience the OS with a clean install because when you buy a new computer with Windows 7 it won't have the underlying glitchy crap from an old installation in it.

so what you are saying is to move all your save data onto a disk, then erase everything else, then pop in a windows 7 cd? newbie confused.
