The message says check the setup log, did you find anything there?

Have you an earlier install of Photoshop?

I would make sense the Photoshop newsgroups would have a better idea.

Well, I solved this problem by doing a clean install of all my software... ugh. I was pointed to this help document by the help desk at the NAPP:
Error "...Installer Database is Corrupt..." when you install Adobe Creative Suite 4 or point product

Hope this might help others with this problem.
