Windows 7 IE8 double take

Hello everyone
I'm running IE8 with google as me engine, when I open IE it opens two pages.
Has anyone else had this and if so what's happening and how do I sort it.

You mean it opens two instances of IE or two tabs?
If it's two tabs, go to "Tools">>Internet Options. Here rmove any homepages you do not want to see, and click OK.

Thank you for that, the years I've been using these things (even built both of mine) you'd think I'd have checked the obvious.
