So I am building my first computer so i bought my new motherboard, processor,etc.. and windows 7, but i am using an old hard drive from my broken computer that has windows xp on it. Before it all gets to my house i was curious on how to wipe the hard drive and install windows 7. Can anyone explain how to do this or is it not possible?

Certainly possible
AND
Yep, it's just about that complicated, lol. Simply select Custom Install, delete & format desired drive, set the size for the OS/System partition & you're off to the races
I would suggest 1st running the Win7 Upgrade Advisor to know ahead of time how the machine feels about taking Windows 7, Link Removed
