Windows 7 installing windows 7

hello everyone.....

im new to the forum and not much of a computer guy but maybe someone on here can help point me in the right steps..

after being ripped off from a few computer places im now going to try to fix my computer issues on my own.

here is what in getting myself into.

im going to go from windows xp 32 bit and im going to clean install windows 7 premium 64 bit.

i am also changing my processor to a 64 bit. i was told this would allow me to be able to run that windows 7?

i also just put in a new sound card that would work with windows 7 but as for my video card im not sure what to use that supports aero?

am i going about this in the right steps...any thoughts and help
