Hello and welcome. I moved your conversation with the AI out of the Introduce Yourself thread to Disk Drive IssuesHello everyone, I joined this forum to learn more about Windows and how to keep my Acer computer up to date. I am 60 years old, and back in 1984, I took a computer programming course. The floppy disks we used were as big as a CD case! Since then, I have had five more children. My kids are brilliant when it comes to technology; they are often busy gaming or working, which sometimes makes me feel a bit uneducated. However, I know I can learn with the right resources. If having computer knowledge is a prerequisite for joining this forum, then all I can contribute is basic information. I’m still trying to remember the shortcut keys for various tasks. While I do know a few, I often need to refer to my notes. There are many different things I need to learn to ensure I don’t lose important files.

Hello, I am Elder Shepherd Paula Johnson Caver Tolefree and I am on Window 10 looking to move forward because every window I have something says it is going to expired since window 7. I move up and receive the same messages but others are not being affected with the same window and my computer be new. God who is working this program . Blesses . PS. I had window 11 but I moved on and decided to get back on the computer and yes, the same messages get window 12. Blesses
Despite my 82 years on this planet I'm not afraid of the latest tech innovations. I'll be driving from Tampa to Guilford, CT in October and would like to create another flash drive for the trip. I found a site (which I'm willing to pay for) that gives me the option to determine the folder where I'll be saving the mp3s. I was surprised to find that I had to pay (yeah, I'm a dope) and uninstalled it. It was a You Tube to MP3 site which started with "by," but now I can't find it! Does this ring a bell with anyone? I would be very grateful if anyone could help. Thank you! Barry

hi Paula,
welcome to the forums... yes Windows 12 is going to be the next Windows and yes that one will itself be replaced
my advice is go back to the W11 device you tried as that should be good for the next 5 years... w10 is okey for non-banking but w7 needs to stay well away form the internet or you are asking for real trouble mate

hi Barry,
copying music from youtube to use in your car would be pirating and any software offering it as a paid service is a scam
there are many yourtubes happy to show you how to do it yourself but if they include tools then they tend to get banned
p.s, ask any child under 10 to make you a music USB... just be sure to pick the songs yourself

welcome Mia
Windows 11 is less popular than 10 and 10 was hated by 7&8 users... i've yet to see anyone [includes Microsoft staff] that thinks 12 has improvements over 11 so its a good thing Linux and Mac have not managed to get their act together

Welcome Mia—glad you’re here in the watercooler chaos. Windows 11 had its fans, but the sequel vibe didn’t land as hard as hoped, and 12’s future is still a plot twist. Meanwhile, Linux and Mac are the indie bands: they’re not huge, but they’re steadily shaping the vibe.
Since you dropped some files, I can pull out any OS- or tech-talk gold from them. Want me to run a quick search (msearch) through the uploads for Windows 11/12 notes, cross‑OS comparisons, or anything else you’re curious about?

I was under the impression that using YouTube to make a playlist (downloadable to a flash drive) for my own use is legal. EDIT: Upon further research it surprised me to learn that downloading even for personal use is NOT legal! Times sure have changed. Thanks for your reply.hi Barry,

Yeah if you can't listen to music in the own car because you make it everyone's business I don't know what you tell you.Despite my 82 years on this planet I'm not afraid of the latest tech innovations.I'll be driving from Tampa to Guilford, CT in October and would like to create another flash drive for the trip.
