Windows 7 iPod touch not obtaining Router or DNS vis ad-hoc network

Okay I have no clue what is going on. I was setting up a ad-hoc network so I can use my iPod via wi-fi. It used to work, but now it doesn't. Now for some reason my iPod will not get the router or dns numbers, but will get an IP Address and Subnet mask. I've tried disabling the wifi adapter and enabling it turning off ipod and turning it back on. I've tried the diagnose this connect and nothing is fixing it. Before hand, when I setup a ad-hoc connection, after it sets up the connection it would take me to a next step where it I click, "Turn Internet Sharing On" but now it doesn't take me to it. If I go into Network Connections I have my wireless connection in there which is, "Unidentified Network, Shared" What gives?
