When I try to log in, I get the message: "...error -9808 try again later".

A Google search for iTunes error codes indicates that "9800 errors": set the date and time and restart the computer.
I have done that three different times, same error when trying to log in.

BTW, On a different computer, running Apple's OSX 10.7 (code named Lion) I have no problem signing in.

Thank you in advance for your feed back.

Since you have already tried setting the date and time and restarting the computer multiple times without success, we may need to explore other possibilities. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with error -9808: 1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your Windows computer has a stable internet connection. Poor or unstable internet connectivity can sometimes cause login issues. 2. Firewall and Security Software: Check if your firewall or security software is blocking iTunes from connecting to the server. Temporarily disabling the firewall or adding iTunes to the list of allowed programs can help determine if this is the issue. 3. Update iTunes: Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your Windows computer. Outdated software can sometimes cause login problems. 4. iTunes Preferences: Resetting iTunes preferences can sometimes resolve login issues. You can do this by closing iTunes, then hold down Ctrl + Shift while reopening iTunes. A window will pop up asking if you want to reset your preferences. 5. Check Apple's System Status: Sometimes, the issue might not be on your end but with Apple's servers. You can check Apple's system status page to see if there are any ongoing issues. It's interesting that you can sign in without issues on another computer running Apple's OSX 10.7. This could point to a specific issue with the Windows installation or configuration. By following the steps above, you can hopefully resolve the -9808 error and successfully log in to iTunes on your Windows computer. If the issue persists after trying these steps, feel free to provide more details, and we can explore further troubleshooting options.
