Windows 7 Jump Lists and MRU

Hello All,

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

My IE jump list refuses to show the history section.

It worked fine until about a month ago. I've tried all the usual fixes that I'm finding on the web including:
uncheck/recheck "store and display recently..." checkboxes in start menu properties
right click > restore previous version for file located at C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations
deleting file located at above location
registry edits - modifying:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
HKEY_USERS\.default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

I'm really becoming frustrated with this one and I really don't want to go through the process of a clean install just to fix this.

The other symptom I seem to be having (which may be unrelated) is the MRU list in the start menu will only display native Windows apps. I'm constantly using Quicken, Visual Studio, IE, FTP Client, etc. but they never show in the list.

Any help definitely appreciated.
