Can I limit the 'type' of file association appearing in the jumplist? ie. microsoft word has many file types associated to it, but i want just the .docx format files to appear in the jump list.

Thanks.

To limit the file types associated with a specific program in the jump list, such as Microsoft Word, you typically cannot directly control this through Windows settings. File associations are managed at the system level and are not customizable on a per-program basis. However, there is a workaround you can try to achieve a similar result by creating a custom jump list with the specific file types you want to appear for Microsoft Word. Here's a general outline of how you could approach this: 1. Create a Custom Jump List: - Create a folder where you will store shortcuts to the specific .docx files you want to appear in the jump list. - Create shortcuts for the desired .docx files and place them in this folder. 2. Pin the Folder to Microsoft Word: - Right-click on the Microsoft Word icon in the taskbar to open its jump list. - Drag and drop the folder containing the shortcuts onto the jump list to pin it to Word. 3. Accessing the Custom Jump List: - Now, when you right-click on the Microsoft Word icon in the taskbar, you should see the folder you pinned with the specific .docx files. By following this process, you can effectively limit the file types that appear in the jump list for Microsoft Word to only the .docx files you have specified. While this method doesn't directly filter the file types associated with Word system-wide, it provides a way to have quick access to specific file types within the program's jump list.
