Hello!

Ever since I've had my windows 8 laptop, every so often I'll receive the BSOD "Kernal_Data_Inpage_Error" and it's only ever that one.

I could be doing anything, playing a game, on facebook, or just leaving it idle when this error occurs, and frankly it's very very annoying as it sometimes does it while I am also trying to do work.

I am trying to upload the ZIP file of the memory dump or whatever it is that the forum tells me to do, but it keeps saying error, just my luck aye. If anyone can fix either of these issues it would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
Hi Polople,
your system might be set to create the larger dump files. Check to see if it's set to these settings:

Go to Start and type in sysdm.cpl and press Enter
Click on the Advanced tab
Click on the Startup and Recovery Settings button
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked
Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump << where your .dmp files can be
found later.
Click OK twice to exit the dialogs, then reboot for the changes to take effect.

You've probably already seen this but if not try reading the thread found here:
