Solution
It seems like you're encountering an issue with playing a DVD on your new laptop. The error message you mentioned and the unresponsiveness of the mouse in that window can be quite frustrating. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve this problem: 1. Update DVD Player Software: - Ensure that your DVD player software is up to date. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues. 2. Check DVD Disc: - Make sure that the DVD disc is not damaged or dirty. Try cleaning the disc and reinserting it to see if that resolves the issue. 3. Restart Computer: - Sometimes a simple restart can fix temporary software glitches. Restart your laptop and try playing the DVD again. 4. Update Device Drivers: - Check if your laptop's mouse and DVD drive drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can lead to various issues. 5. Check Mouse Connectivity: - If the mouse is not working in that specific window, try connecting a different mouse to see if the issue is with the mouse itself. 6. Use Keyboard Shortcuts: - If the mouse is not functioning, you can often navigate using keyboard shortcuts. For example, you can use the Tab key to move between options and Enter to select. 7. Alternative Media Player: - Try using a different media player software to play the DVD. Windows Media Player, VLC Media Player, or other third-party players might work where the current one fails. 8. Run Hardware Troubleshooter: - Windows has a built-in hardware troubleshooter that can help identify and fix hardware issues automatically. You can access this by going to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot. 9. Check DVD Region: - Ensure that the DVD you are trying to play is from the correct region. Some DVDs are region-locked and may not play on devices from other regions. 10. Check Windows Updates: - Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date by installing the latest updates. Updates often contain fixes for bugs and issues. If you try these steps and continue to experience issues, please provide more details about the error message you are receiving so that I can offer more specific assistance.
