LSEG has introduced Workspace AI Search, a conversational AI agent for financial research that is available in LSEG Workspace and the company’s Workspace app for Microsoft Teams. Microsoft 365 Copilot support is planned next, according to LSEG’s July 2026 product announcement.
The service lets financial users ask natural-language questions across LSEG data and content, then receive answers as summaries, tables, or visualisations. LSEG says responses include transparent citations intended to let users trace figures and claims back to their underlying sources.
Workspace AI Search is aimed at a familiar problem in investment and corporate-finance work: answering a question may require pulling together prices, company fundamentals, regulatory filings, research, market news, and analytics from separate screens and documents.
LSEG says its agent combines its own financial datasets and business logic with market data, filings, Reuters News, Deals and Aftermarket Research. The company positions it as more than a document chatbot: users can screen markets, compare companies, summarise documents, analyse trends, and continue with follow-up questions without rebuilding a query from scratch.
That distinction matters. Financial AI tools are most useful when they can identify where an answer came from, particularly when the underlying material is licensed, time-sensitive, or used in client-facing work. LSEG’s emphasis on source-level citations appears designed to address the verification gap that has limited the use of general-purpose AI assistants in regulated research workflows.
The promised Microsoft 365 Copilot integration is potentially more significant, though LSEG has not provided a release date or detailed the final scope. If delivered as described, it would put LSEG’s licensed financial content and analytics inside Copilot-driven Microsoft 365 workflows rather than requiring users to switch into a dedicated market-data terminal or separate Workspace window.
Admins should not mistake that planned availability for a consumer Copilot feature. Workspace AI Search is a commercial LSEG capability built around its proprietary data, licensed content, governance controls, and customer entitlements. Availability, data access, retention, and compliance requirements will therefore depend on an organisation’s LSEG and Microsoft agreements.
The product is available now in LSEG Workspace and LSEG Workspace for Microsoft Teams, while Microsoft 365 Copilot availability remains forthcoming.

The Windows and Microsoft 365 angle
For Windows-based finance teams, the immediate integration point is Microsoft Teams. LSEG Workspace users can access the AI Search agent through Workspace itself or Workspace in Teams, keeping queries closer to the communications tool many firms already use for internal discussions and client coordination. The promised Microsoft 365 Copilot integration is potentially more significant, though LSEG has not provided a release date or detailed the final scope.
