at work we use mac address filtering to keep other employees from connecting their personal computers to our LAN (we monitor work computers). We have maxed out our router so we are looking to buy a switch to add a couple of e-net ports. If our new switch doesn't have its own mac filtering feature would we still be able to filter the mac addresses of computers hooked up through the switch from our router? Basically i need to know if a standard network switch maintains a computers mac address or do all computers behind a switch share the switches own mac address?
