Macos X for windows 7 .

Macos X is a Mac OS X port for WIndows 7, made by idas = ZEUS osX. (Pavlos Pitselas).

Macos (1)word meaning : 'mecos'= length in ancient Athenian also Ionian language and in Byzantine and in nowdays Greek, and 'macos' in doric and aeolian ancient greek dialects and in nowdays tsaconian= spartan dialect that still speaken in some villages in southeastern Pelloponese[south Greece], where is my hometown, and also in Ancient Greek Macedonian and Aeolian Thessalian dialects.

Macos X IS not just a theme. With new code added to Windows system files , Windows becomes behaving like Mac OS X .

When foristance we select a folder as 'icon', we have separate mouse over image for the folder and other image for the text.

When we select a folder as 'details' we can have stripes, and mouse over images like mac os X , blue hover and white text .

Main categories of visual styles: Transparent, Brushed, Gray.

Subcategories: I have also added some styles, to any of the first categories, with always opened folderband and addressbar, and no button to the top right edge of the window.

Also to this screenshot i use The Ave's application [still beta] , Link Removed - Invalid URL which makes the buttons more close.

My work is based on the spirit of os X, and not a copy of it.

Many images are designed in a similar but not same way with original os X.

I use font bold style in many places that original os X use regular font style.

I made this project to work only to 96 dpi font size.

For this project i have spent thousands of hours, and perchaps it is first time in the history of Windows, that without any 3rd party programm or explorer replacement, we have a so much close to mac os X style approaching.

The theme will have some limitations in use, as i have not enough time to complete in the way i want, as i am too tired.

MAIN LIMITATIONS AND CONDITIONS OF USING

1. do not change border padings.

2. do not change font size (leave it 96 dpi font size).

3. taskbar must be resized every time we log in, if we want 'small icons' in it, as Windows 7 internal code streched it to bigger dimentions.

4. for close distance between close, min, max buttons Ave's application [still beta] , CloseButtonChanger needed.

5. for adding shadows effect around your Windows, needed the freeware controlable application YzShadow.

Special thanks to Panda X , DM-moinmoin , Patrickgs , and and Yoni (Rafael Rodriguez) .

Upload will come this or next week. [32 bit and 64 bit system files will included, or will uploaded separately because of the size in mb]

All features referenced in my work are subject to change.

I do not allow modifications of my work.

Thank you All of you, for your support.

Interesting project.
So, what is basically all about?
An installable theme?
Where can it be downloaded from? And is it auto-installable and securely uninstallable? Could it compromise in any way the stability of the system?

Thank you for your post. Cheers

This is a custom theme. To make it installable you need a freeware application which make your system enabling to use themes and visual styles, different than the aero visual style, download from UxStyle - no more patching. .
Then you have to replace the system files with mines. Additional code is added to them and the behaviour has changed as it has described ''...When foristance we select a folder as 'icon', we have separate mouse over image for the folder and other image for the text. When we select a folder as 'details' we can have stripes, and mouse over images like mac os X , blue hover and white text ...'', and also mstyles made by me, giving the overall result.
and ofcourse instructions must be followed.

Then after you will see what i mean '' . . . 'Macos X' IS not just a theme. With new code added to Windows system files , Windows becomes behaving like Mac OS X ...''
From what i know its first time in the history of windows , that withiout using a 3rd party program, or a explorer replacement or 3rd party shell , we can have mac os x style behaviour to some parts of our windows system, as described.

'' ... Upload will come this or next week. [32 bit and 64 bit system files will included, or will uploaded separately because of the size in mb] ...'' as i have written.
have a little patient , what makes it difficult is the large size in mb because of the system files.(explorerframe.dll, explorer but mainly because of imageres.dll and shell32.dll which have also the icons)
-------
This is about one year continious work to code, adding additional code lines that does not exist to original microsoft code, plus changing native code parameters, started with windows 7 beta, then RC1 and now RTM, and i use most of the images from my mac styles for vista which i started in November 2006 up to December 2008 (Link Removed - Invalid URL), import them and finish for windows 7 mstyle in May 2009 and added few images, as you see in my Deviant art screenshots, also this month(new style in combonox etc)

---------

No its not auto-installable. You have to do it your selfe the replacement of system files under instructions i will give u.
its not difficult to do it. After Obtaining Permissions and ownership of your original system files,(you will see in instructions how), you will save them[the original system files] to a safe folder as a back up solution(also do then also a restore point).

------------------

i have tested to my 32bit version of windows 7 rtm, also there some testers that have used it to 64bit systems[before 1 month, not the latest edition, i have to find them to retest this to 64 bit], so there is NO PROBLEM in stability.

The only limitations , those described:
1. do not change border padings.
2. do not change font size (leave it 96 dpi font size). My visual styles work only in 96 dpi font size.
3. taskbar must be resized every time we log in, if we want 'small icons' in it, as Windows 7 internal code streched it to bigger dimentions.
4. for close distance between close, min, max buttons Ave's application [still beta] , CloseButtonChanger needed.
5. for adding shadows effect around your Windows, needed the freeware controlable application YzShadow. this because native shadows on windows visual style can not changed, can not be more black or less, with YzShadow you can control this.

i also added more clear instructions for the 64bit system:
for the 64 bit version SYstem files replacement :
You must copy ExplorerFrame.dll, imageres.dll, shell32.dll from the 64 bit pack to C:\Windows\System32 and and explorer to C:\Windows .
and NOW please Download my 32 BIT version from Link Removed - Invalid URL , open the foler 32 bit Dll files, copy and replace the files that existed to c:\windows\syswow64 of your 64bit system.
I HAVE ADDED THIS to my Deviants Art page Instructions for the 64 bit theme.

Because many people asked me about the behaviour of taskbar i will writte here the solution that also is written in my Deviant art 's page instructions :

For resizing taskbar i must do this : i must first deselect small icons, (deselect also Lock THE TASKBAR), so big size icons and taskbar appears. Then i resize the big taskbar height, as small as possible. then i select small icons, and the taskbar becomes 22 pixels height.

The problem is this : every time i restart the taskbar becomes bigger size than 22 pixels so i have again to resize it.
The solution that i found and works for me is this :
Before shutdown, or restart, or log off i set the taskbar to the bottom [my normal taskbar's position of my theme is at the top], and when i log in i drag it to the top, and everything is ok.

This is it.

--------
i have also written about this to microsoft Tech net forums, if a specialist from those people made the original Microsoft code for taskbar, or anyone expert could give a permanently solution, though No answer.

APPOLON visual styles/ THEMES for windows 7.

APPOLON THEMES are mac osx style themes for windows 7.

These visual styles have made to be worked with my system files [dll] i have made and exist in my Macos X for Windows 7.
so for having mac os x behaviour to your system [like to have stripes blu and white , icons etc] you have to download also my system files from Macos X for Windows 7 themes.

so if you have a Windows 7 32 bit system download my:
Macos X for Windows 7 - 32bit Macos X for Windows 7 - 32bit by *ZEUSosX on deviantART
if you have a Windows 7 64 bit system download my:
Macos X for Windows 7 - 64bit Macos X for Windows 7 - 64bit by *ZEUSosX on deviantART and follow also very carefully the instructions of them , but use the wallpapers and Themes and visual styles from this APPOLON visual styles/ THEMES pack.

APPOLON_THEMES_for_windows_7_by_ZEUSosX.jpg

The new APPOLON visual styles/ THEMES, have 24 pixel height taskbar.

That means that everytime you log in to your system, taskbar not becomes bigger[like happened to 22pixels smaller in original osx style dimentions, themes i made on past]

Also i have added a folder with special made folders [like my pictures, recycle bin, control panel, All tasks etc] that can be pin to taskbar !
also there are foldrers invisible which can give free space in taskbar and also other folders which are looking like vertical separators,[see in screenshot] so for using the big size taskbar at the bottom of desktop as a dock replacement, as many of u ask me those 2 things.
[24 pixel small taskbar at top of desktop + big size dock style when we set it at the bottom of desktop]
