I upgraded my Vista laptop with Win 7. The load went great but when I tried to open Outlook 2003 I get an error “Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Mapi32.dll is corrupt or the wrong version. This could have been caused by installing another messaging software. Please reinstall Outlookâ€Â.
I uninstalled Office 2003and reloaded Office 2003 and I still get the same error. I uninstalled it again and cleared out my registry thinking it was holding some information that would cause it to throw that error message. I installed Office 2003 again and I get the same error message.
I did a custom install of Win 7 on another laptop and Outlook came up with no problem.
I saw a thread saying to rename the file mapi32.dll to mapi32.old. So when I open Outlook again it will create a new file. I tried to rename it and I do not have permission to do that.
Any ideas???
Thank you,
Athan
