I have been using windows7 quite a while now, and after a few weeks my MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-8505 ATA Device not reading discs anymore and I cannot burn to either CD-R / CD-RW / DVD-R which I can do before with my previous OS, even the one I used during the successful installation of Windows7 which I burned from the same device when I was still with Windows Vista Home Premium OS.

My system specs below:

Unit: Toshiba A300 Satellite
Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM)2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.40Ghz
Memory: 3.00 GB
System Type: 32-bit Operating System

Help please .

Check for Software Conflicts: - Sometimes third-party burning software can cause conflicts. Try uninstalling any third-party burning software you have installed. 5. Check the Registry: - Incorrect registry settings can cause issues with hardware devices. Be cautious when editing the registry. Seek assistance if you're unfamiliar with this process. 6. Firmware Update: - Check if there is a firmware update available for your DVD drive on the Toshiba support website. 7. System File Checker: - Run the System File Checker tool to scan for and repair corrupted system files. Open a command prompt as an administrator and type:
Code:
 sfc /scannow
8. Check for Windows Updates: - Make sure your operating system is up-to-date by checking for Windows updates. By following these steps, you may be able to diagnose and resolve the issue with your DVD-RAM drive. If the problem persists, it might indicate a hardware failure, and you may need to consider replacing the drive.
