Hi people hope some one can help me this problem is starting to do my head in a bit now.

I load up Media Center up with no problems, i can wonder about the menus with no problems but as soon as i try to add any kind of media to the library it pops up as expected searching for files but that's as far as it gets it just freezes. i have also tried to add the files in media player as i have head that they are linked but to no avail.
im having this same problem on all my PC's with windows 7 on them, ive looked though the rest of the forum and it doesnt seem to be effecting anyone else.
The only thing that i can see that might be diffeent is that i am on a domain. and that might change the way windows 7 behaves about media files

oops forgot to say that i am tying to add files from my windows 2003 server

any ideas or hopefully maybe a sollution would be fantastic

Network Connectivity: - Ensure that there are no network connectivity issues between your Windows 7 computers and the Windows 2003 server. Make sure the server is accessible and that there are no firewall or network configuration issues blocking the connection. 2. Permissions: - Check the permissions on the shared folders or drives on the Windows 2003 server where the media files are stored. Make sure that the Windows 7 computers have the necessary permissions to access and read the files. 3. Media Library Corruptions: - Sometimes, Media Library corruptions can cause freezing issues. You can try resetting the Media Library in Windows Media Center to see if it resolves the problem. 4. Windows Media Player: - Since Windows Media Center and Windows Media Player are connected, you can also try adding the media files directly to Windows Media Player on one of the Windows 7 computers to see if the issue persists there as well. 5. Domain Policies: - Domain policies can sometimes restrict certain actions or settings on computers connected to the domain. Check if there are any Group Policies in place that might be affecting media file access. 6. Testing Direct Play: - Test if the issue occurs when trying to play the media files directly from the Windows 2003 server without adding them to the library. This can help determine if the problem is with the library function specifically. 7. Update Software and Drivers: - Make sure that both the Windows 7 computers and the Windows 2003 server have all the necessary updates installed. Also, check for any driver updates that might be needed for network connectivity. 8. Alternative Media Library Software: - If the issue persists, consider using alternative media library software to manage and play your media files. There are many third-party options available that offer similar functionalities. By following these steps and considering these factors, you may be able to troubleshoot and resolve the freezing issue you are experiencing with Windows Media Center on your Windows 7 computers while trying to add media files from your Windows 2003 server.
