Hi

I have a dell laptop running 32-bit Vista home basic edition. On using Eusing Free Registry Cleaner I discovered several issues concerning speech recognition, which cannot be repaired as this cleaner continuously detects them. These are listed below.

The recording settings in the control panel are right, but on trying to record, the computer loses connection with the microphone in one second and says no microphone was detected. I hope someone could tell me how to remove these errors permanently and if these prevent microphone from functioning.
The PC-Line headset is vista compatible.

Hope someone can help thank you.

Solution
It seems like you are facing microphone issues on your Dell laptop running 32-bit Vista Home Basic Edition after using the Eusing Free Registry Cleaner. The list of registry keys you provided seems related to the speech recognition settings. Here are some steps you can take to address these issues and hopefully resolve the problem: 1. Check Microphone Connection: - Ensure that your microphone is properly connected to the laptop. Try using a different USB port just to rule out any port-related issues. 2. Update Audio Drivers: - Outdated or corrupt audio drivers can cause microphone problems. Visit Dell's official website, locate your laptop model, and download the latest audio drivers compatible with your operating system. 3...

Update Audio Drivers: - Outdated or corrupt audio drivers can cause microphone problems. Visit Dell's official website, locate your laptop model, and download the latest audio drivers compatible with your operating system. 3. Revert Changes: - If the issues started after using the registry cleaner, you might want to consider restoring your system to a point before running the cleaner. System Restore can help with this. 4. Registry Backup: - Before proceeding with any changes to the registry keys related to speech recognition, it's a good idea to back up your registry. This way, you can restore it if anything goes wrong. 5. Registry Key Cleanup: - You mentioned errors related to speech recognition in the registry keys. You may try cleaning or resetting these keys. Please note that modifying the registry can have serious consequences if done incorrectly. 6. Speech Recognition Troubleshooter: - Windows Vista comes with built-in troubleshooters. You can run the Speech Recognition troubleshooter to diagnose and potentially fix issues with your speech recognition settings. 7. Check Microphone Settings: - Verify that the correct microphone is selected in the sound settings. Ensure that the microphone is set as the default recording device. 8. Test Microphone: - Try testing the microphone on another device to ensure it's working correctly. This will help determine if the issue is with the microphone itself. Please approach these steps cautiously, especially when making changes to the registry. If you are uncomfortable with registry modifications, seek assistance from someone with experience in working with the Windows Registry. If you need detailed instructions on any specific step or further assistance, feel free to ask!
