Microsoft has announced the rollout of a significant update to the Copilot app on Windows, introducing the "Desktop Share" feature to Windows Insiders. This enhancement allows users to share their entire desktop with Copilot, enabling real-time analysis, insights, and assistance across all visible applications and content.
Key Features of Desktop Share:
  • Comprehensive Assistance: By sharing the entire desktop, Copilot can provide guidance on various tasks, from improving creative projects to refining resumes or navigating new software.
  • Real-Time Interaction: Copilot offers immediate feedback and coaching, enhancing productivity and user experience.
How to Use Desktop Share:
  • Open the Copilot app.
  • Click the glasses icon in the composer.
  • Select the desktop to share.
  • Request assistance on your current task.
  • To stop sharing, press 'Stop' or 'X' in the composer.
Additionally, users can now activate Vision during a voice conversation by clicking the glasses icon, providing Copilot with visual context to enhance its responses.
This update (version 1.25071.125 and higher) is gradually rolling out to Windows Insiders via the Microsoft Store, initially targeting markets where Windows Vision is enabled. Microsoft encourages users to provide feedback directly within the Copilot app to refine and improve the experience.
