When I walk away from the computer, the monitor image shrinks to half size or less after a short time.
If it is allowed to sit for a longer time, the monitor goes blank and I am unable to bring it back. Need to reboot the computer. What is going on?

I know someone will say "don't walk away".

Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the power settings on your computer causing the monitor to go into a power-saving mode and not properly waking up when you return. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Power Settings:
    • Windows 10: Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep. Check the settings under "Screen" and "Sleep" to ensure that the monitor is not set to turn off too quickly.
    []Update Graphics Drivers:
    • Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can sometimes cause display issues. Update your graphics drivers to the latest version from the manufacturer's website.

    ]Adjust Screen Saver Settings:
    • Make sure that your screen saver settings are not set to a mode that shrinks the monitor image. Check and adjust your screen saver settings.
[]Disable Screen Saver and Sleep Mode:
    • Temporarily disable the screen saver and sleep mode to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if these features are causing the problem.
    [
    ]Check for Updates:
    • Ensure that your operating system is up to date with the latest updates and patches. Sometimes, updates can fix compatibility issues that may be causing the problem.
  2. Hardware Check:
    • Check the physical connections between your computer and monitor to make sure everything is properly connected. Also, try connecting the monitor to a different port on your computer to rule out any connection issues. If these steps do not resolve the issue, it might be helpful to provide more details about your system configuration (such as the make and model of your computer and monitor) to assist in further troubleshooting. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year as well! 🎄🎉
