i understand that the "windows movie maker" is not included (why? why?!) in windows 7.
how can i download it or get a microsoft (free!) program to edit my clips ?

Hello,

The reason why 'Movie Maker' is not with Windows 7, is because there can be more free space and Windows 7 used less memory than Windows Vista. Windows Vista had a lot of junk programs that nobody hardly used them so Microsoft got rid of them in Windows 7. You can download 'Movie Maker' by using Windows Live Essentials.

Hope this has helped you.

Yours Sincerely,

Aikma

I'm also using Quick Time Pro for doing just basic editing on .mov files. It works pretty good for that, but I don't like the conversions it does, they don't look so hot.

I had to do it as my Kodak Zi8 puts out .mov files which Movie Maker won't work with. That's okay, I really like Movavi better anyhow.

:D
Windows Movie Maker for Win 7 absolutly does input .mov files. I don't know about Movavi, but your probably right about it being better than Movie Maker. Although, this version is better than Movie Maker for XP.

Every time I try opening up a .mov file in Windows Movie maker, it crashes, so maybe it'll work on your computer, but it sertainly doesn't work on mine.
