On rare occasions, I need to catalog a movie for which there is no thumbnail of it available. Usually I can find something, even if less than ideal, but that is not always the case.

I've been Googling for some kind of software that could create an image, as well as a text overlay of the title, but the ones I've found so far want to just create a series of frames from the movies, with no means of adding custom text. Does such a critter exist?

These tools allow you to create custom images with text overlays. Here's a step-by-step guide on how you can create a custom movie thumbnail with text overlay using Adobe Photoshop: 1.
