Windows 7 MP3 files won't play any longer

I’m using 64-bit Win 7 operating system. I had been playing downloaded mp3 files on my computer with no issues using JetAudio/Windows Median Player. Suddenly I'm no longer able to play songs at all. When I click on a song to play, it shows up in the playlist with a time of 0:00. Each day fewer and fewer mp3 files will play.
