Hm I don't remember if I disabled the Send Feedback/disabled shortcuts or it was removed from the RC, but I'll post it here. I'm using Windows 7 Basic theme on a laptop with bad ATI support so with Aero I get crashes when I go full screen in video/flash, but with the Basic theme enabled, if I close the latest version of Windows Live Messenger, it tends to show a minimizing animation to the bottom right corner near the system tray (where MSN used to minimize too). Also, I disabled minimizing effects and MSN still shows them (not a bug really because it happens in all versions of Windows even if you disable minimizing effect). But it's minimizing to the right when it should minimize to the icon in the taskbar.

Troubleshooting Windows Live Messenger Minimizing Issue:

    [
    ]Minimizing Animation:
    • The behavior you described with Windows Live Messenger minimizing to the bottom right corner near the system tray could be a result of its default behavior. Unfortunately, this behavior might not be easily modified without tweaking the application's settings directly.
    []Minimizing Effects:
    • To address the minimizing effects issue:
      • Navigate to Windows Live Messenger settings or options.
      • Look for any settings related to minimizing behavior or effects.
      • Disable any animations or effects that may be causing the unwanted behavior.
    [
    ]Compatibility Mode:
    • You can try running Windows Live Messenger in compatibility mode:
      • Right-click the Messenger shortcut.
      • Go to Properties.
      • Navigate to the Compatibility tab.
      • Check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
      • Select a previous Windows version that the Messenger was known to work with (e.g., Windows XP or Vista).
    []Update Graphics Drivers:
    • Since you mentioned issues with ATI support, ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can cause various display-related problems.
    [
    ]Alternative Messaging Apps:
    • Consider using alternative messaging applications that might be more compatible with your system if the issues persist with Windows Live Messenger.

      Additional Notes:

    • Windows 7 Support: Keep in mind that Windows 7 is no longer receiving security updates from Microsoft. It's advisable to consider upgrading to a newer version of Windows for better security and compatibility with modern applications. These steps might help address the issues you are facing with Windows Live Messenger on your Windows 7 system. Feel free to try them out and let me know if you need further assistance!
