I have a laptop (Vista Home Premium 32 bit) and a desktop (Windows 7 Build 7100 64 bit). I have purchased Windows 7 Pro. Can I legitibately use the install CD to do a clean install on both PCs?

Thanks

You can use the same disk (however, this is a gray area, but I personally think is rediculous)
You can not use the same license on 2 different systems,,, unless it is Retail Version (bought at BestBuy for example)

But, if the Disk came with the laptop,,, No..... it is called OEM

Retail = Install on one PC at a time,, but can remove it from one and install to another and reactivate.
If you have more than one Retail copy of windows (ie. one copy for each PC) then you can use one disk for all installs, but you will need the individual license for each PC.

OEM = Tied to the pc (laptop or desktop) and can not be transferred. When the PC goes in the trash, so does the disk and license.
Technically,, the disk for this can not be used on other systems,, because of the way the disk is designed. It is designed mainly for the system that it came with.

Retail Keys, do not generally work with OEM Disks and vice versa.
