Just want to share with any win 8 users who might be still yearning for an old-fashioned Start button and start menu.

The variety of third party start menus are, as far as I know, all "non" Apps, and, by their nature, will remain so. I don't see he App store being an issue as they have no affiliation there.
If people want it, why not? Heck, I'm using it.

Hey davidhk129, just so you know, it's not free. It's a 30 day trial and then cost $4.99.

I gave the wrong link.
You are right. That one is NOT free, and I did not use it.

I meant to suggest this one which I do use ... Start Menu 8 by IObit

Haha my question is will MS approve any of these start menus on their winstore?

Um... people can add desktop apps on the winstore.

No dispute here. I was responding to your post. As I said, why worry? They can be all downloaded direct from the web.
FWIW. They are mostly already in the store. There isn't a great deal of supervision as to what can be there, so I guess they will remain.
