Frequent disconnection issues with your Wi-Fi adapter could be due to various reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem: 1. Driver Update: - Ensure you have the latest driver installed for your Wi-Fi adapter. You can check the manufacturer's website for the most recent driver version. 2. Power Settings: - Check your power settings to ensure the system isn't turning off the Wi-Fi adapter to save power. - Go to Device Manager, locate your Wi-Fi adapter, right-click, select Properties, go to the Power Management tab, and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." 3. Interference: - Check for any interference from other electronic devices or even physical obstructions like walls that might weaken the Wi-Fi signal. 4. Network Settings: - Adjust advanced settings in your network adapter properties. Modify Roaming Aggressiveness, Transmit Power, or other similar settings. 5. Network Troubleshooter: - Run the built-in Windows network troubleshooter to detect and fix common connectivity issues. 6. Router Settings: - Restart your router/modem. - Ensure your router firmware is up to date. - Try changing the channel your Wi-Fi network is using. 7. DNS Settings: - Try changing your DNS server settings to Google's or OpenDNS servers. 8. Temperature: - Check if the Wi-Fi adapter is not overheating as heat can affect its performance. 9. Disable Power Saving Mode: - In Device Manager, right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter, go to Properties, and under the Power Management tab, disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." If the issue persists after trying these troubleshooting steps, there might be a hardware-related problem with the Wi-Fi adapter. If the adapter is external, you could try using it on another device to see if the disconnection issues persist.
