I bought a WD Network Hard Drive and I want to give a user rights to copy and to upload to the Hard drive but that's all because I don't want them to delete anything and I just forgot how to do it because it's been 10 years since I had to do this?

Solution
To assign specific permissions to a user on your WD Network Hard Drive to allow copying and uploading files but prevent them from deleting anything, you can typically configure this through the drive's settings. Here's a general guide on how you can achieve this: 1. Access the Settings: First, you need to access the settings or configuration interface of your WD Network Hard Drive. This is usually done by logging into the drive's web interface using a web browser. 2. Set Permissions: - Once the user account is created, look for the permissions settings section. - Assign the following permissions to the user: - Read: This allows the user to view the contents of the drive. - Write: This allows the user to copy files to the drive and upload new files. - Delete: Make sure to uncheck or disable the delete permission to prevent the user from deleting any files. 4. Save Changes: After setting the permissions, ensure to save the changes in the settings. By following these steps, you can customize the user permissions on your WD Network Hard Drive to restrict deleting while allowing copying and uploading. The exact steps may vary slightly depending on the model and firmware version of your WD Network Hard Drive. If you encounter any difficulties during the process or need further assistance, you can refer to the user manual or contact WD support for detailed instructions tailored to your specific device model.
