Windows 7 No D: drive and will not load USB flash drive

I would like to avoid reverting back to XP but this system originally had XP when i installed. Worked for a while then for some reason after installing and using DAEMON TOOLS, MAGIC DISK, and ALCOHOL 120% i have had some explorer.exe errors. Their is also CD/DVD drive that should not exist on my PC but it is their anyway. Every time i right or left click it explorer crashes and restarts. I was going to revert back to windows cause stuff has slowed down too. But for some reason It takes forever to see that my 8GB flash drive is plugged in and when it is i cant open, manage, or transfer anything too it, i have a couple games that i would rather not lose and if i can grab the saves off the computer then ill be fine and restart everything. Again i cant get anything off if the PC wont recognize the USB. Any advice greatly appreciated
