Windows 7 No sound when playing movie2 in Media Player

Media Player was working fine until 2 days ago. Media Player now plays audio files fine but there is only intermittent sound when playing movies in Media Player. Movies appear to load and the video looks fine but 9 times out of 19 there is no sound.

I think you should uninstall your sound driver by using motherboard CD, & then re-install it. Make sure the process will go on smoothly without any interruption. May be this will help you out.

Sounds like some media files have gotten corrupted or some system files have gotten corrupted. Try running sfc /scannow to check for system file corruption.

Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7
