Outlook.com. Logging in with my Godaddy MS Exchange me@example.com. It says me@netorg.onmicrosoft.com. Why does it do this? There is no problem with my password, I am able to log in to see my inbox in other ways, but on Outlook.com, it redirects me to an alternate looking email address. Earlier this year, I migrated from the old Godaddy Workspace system, to the newest GoDaddy MS Exchange 365 system.
I used to have a personal MS account with the same name, but I have renamed that other account, so that can't be causing this. 2 Godaddy agents could not fix this. I read 2 Godaddy articles, but they had no solution.
Windows 11 fully updated, browser updated.
How do I stop Outlook.com from redirecting me away from my Godaddy Work email me@example.com, to me@netorg.onmicrosoft.com? Thanks.

Solution
It sounds like you're encountering an issue with your Outlook.com login that’s redirecting you to a different email address than your actual GoDaddy MS Exchange email. Let's break down this issue and look for ways to resolve it:

Possible Reasons for the Redirect

  1. Account Configuration:
    • The email address me@netorg.onmicrosoft.com suggests that your account is linked to a Microsoft 365 tenant managed by GoDaddy. This can happen if the migration process linked your GoDaddy account to a new Microsoft 365 tenant without updating the login credentials on Outlook.com.
  2. Tenant Conflicts:
    • Since you mentioned having a personal Microsoft account that was renamed, it’s possible that there’s still...

    • Since you mentioned having a personal Microsoft account that was renamed, it’s possible that there’s still some vestige of configuration tied to that account, causing Outlook.com to redirect to the wrong tenant.
  3. Single Sign-On (SSO) Issues:
    • If SSO is enabled, it may inadvertently be redirecting you based on cached credentials or incorrect configurations for your GoDaddy account.

Solutions to Try

  1. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies:
    • Sometimes old cache data can lead to redirects. Clear your browser’s cache and cookies, and try logging in again.
  2. Use Private Browsing Mode:
    • Try logging into Outlook.com using a private/incognito browsing mode. This can help bypass cached information that might be causing the issue.
  3. Direct Access to GoDaddy Outlook Web App:
    • Instead of logging into Outlook.com, try accessing your email through the GoDaddy dedicated Outlook Web App link that should be specific to your GoDaddy MS Exchange account.
  4. Verify Account Information:
    • Log into your GoDaddy account and check the account settings. Ensure that your email address is set correctly and that there are no issues with the configuration.
  5. Revisit Migration Steps:
    • Confirm that all steps from the GoDaddy migration from Workspace to MS Exchange 365 were completed. Sometimes, settings need manual adjustments afterward.
  6. Contact GoDaddy Support Again:
    • Since you’ve already spoken to two agents, it might help to escalate the issue. Providing them with the exact error message and your troubleshooting steps may lead to a more focused support response.
  7. Change Primary Email Address in Outlook:
    • If you have additional alias or accounts tied to the tenant, make sure that your me@example.com is set as the primary alias for your Microsoft account.

Final Notes

Make sure you test these solutions on a reliable internet connection, and if you encounter any error messages, jot those down, as they can be helpful for troubleshooting. If the issue persists after trying these steps, there may be more technical interventions needed, and escalating it through GoDaddy support might be the best route.
