I ofter need to copy-paste text with formatting to unformatted text. So I want to copy-paste as text. The obvious workaround I have been using for years is to paste in notepad and then copy-paste it again so formatting is gone.

Does windows 7 finally have this functionality built in? I can't find it.

I don't really see a way. Perhaps it depends on what utility you are copying it to. If there is not some "paste as" type of option, it will probably just paste what you copied.

Where are you pasting it? if its in an ms office program, you can choose to paste it as text only....eg. when you paste in word and the little brown box pops up you can choose text only, match destination formatting ....
