Well today I finally took out the VZW PCMCIA Broadband card and slid it in to find that the computer did not recognize it. When I go into the device manager it does even show PCMCIA. I am using a Dell Studio XPS-13. I tried all the simple things and also checked the BIOS setup but didn't see anything obvious. Did a complete reset, restored defaults, etc. Any thoughts on how to get back the PCMCIA support in DM?

Solution
It seems like you are experiencing an issue with your VZW PCMCIA Broadband card not being recognized by your Dell Studio XPS-13 laptop. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try to resolve this issue:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check PCMCIA Slot:
    • Ensure that the PCMCIA slot is clean and free from any dust or debris that could prevent proper contact with the card.
    []Update Drivers:
    • Check if there are any driver updates available for your PCMCIA card. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause compatibility issues.
    [
    ]Device Manager Check:
    • Make sure that the PCMCIA slot is enabled in Device Manager. If it's not showing up, there might be an issue with the driver...

    []Test the Card:
    • If possible, try the PCMCIA card in another compatible device to verify if the issue is with the card or the laptop.
    [
    ]Compatibility Check:
    • Ensure that the PCMCIA card is compatible with your Dell Studio XPS-13.
  2. System Restore:
    • Consider performing a system restore to a point where the PCMCIA card was recognized if all else fails.

      Next Steps:

If these steps do not resolve the issue, there might be a hardware problem with either the PCMCIA card or the PCMCIA slot on your laptop. In this case, you may need to contact Dell support for further assistance or consider replacing the PCMCIA card with a more modern connectivity solution.
