System Windows 7 32, Acer aspire 5738, Windows 7 installed on top of Vista, working very well so far.

I am trying to use my Sony Ericsson K800i phone as a modem. Pc suite says its connected and is ticking away kb, my phone is charging me for the connection, but I cant open any webpages!!!!

ping www. vodafone.co.uk it says it cant find it.
my default home page is google.

Windows troubleshooting says the IP address is wrong, ticks it when I click repair but goes no further.
Somewhere it says cant find DNS or something simiar.

I connect with a wireless router in the house but want this for weekends away.
The PC suite software is up to date with windows 7, my computer says it doesnt need updates.
I seem to be so near and yet so far from getting this to work.

I need step by step instructions - I am computer literate in most things but dont understand any of this and to write this I keep having to connect through the wireless modem, not the phone!
Thankyou for your help cc1
