Windows 10 pictures

For the past few weeks when I download my pictures from my SD card to my desktop they are not showing up in my pictures folder. They are on the app but not transfering over to the folder. Any ideas?
 
How are you transferring them? An app or copy/paste|click/drag in file explorer?
