i heard that many online games are not compatible with vista.
since i am using vista... i have not yet played any online game without bothering about being disconnected form the server
all of the online games were successfully installed. i can even enter them
the problem is that....
it disconnects after few seconds. even if you relog, the problem is still there
but why is that when i play at night (around 11pm-3am here in the philippines) the problem does not appear anymore?
help! it's summer and i want to play all day long! grrr... does vista really suck?
i tried applying some possible solutions such as:
-turning off the firewall and user account control
-i checked my connection and it's 100% fine
-i tried running the program as an administrator
-i tried to reinstall the game
-i tried to repatch
-i updated to windows vista service pack 1
-running the game on lower a resolution
-restarting the computer
-running the game in compatibility mode with Windows XP SP2
-i even tried to adjust my computer clock to 12midnight
help! i'm an online game addict and it's a boring summer vacation!
i'm about to be convinced that this Operating System sucks
Note: if the only possible solution is to downgrade my OS to XP, can you tell me how to do so?

Solution
nah... i use a USB modem...
I would say that your problem could be related to that. What type of ISP do you have? If you have a decent provider I would take it up with them and see if they would replace your USB modem with one that uses your ethernet port.

Re: Problem with On line Gaming...
Hi! Do you use a "Router"? It kinda sounds like a router problem. In which case I would tell you to update firmware, reset router. If that doesn't work talk to the manufacturer. (You could try dropping the router firewall) Best routers for gaming: D-Link, DIR-655, DGL-4300. Or check with a gaming forum and see what they use.

I don't do much online gaming myself but have never had any problems concerning connection and booting.
Probably your best bet is to see if the particular game has a forum or not. If so then that would be the best place for answers pertaining to that particular game..
Edit:
I've also merged your threads as you don't need to post twice..

I think you can connect with "Big Fish Games" ? (bigfish.com) They have a very good technical staff and at certain times you can talk to them live. If there's anyway to save the connection they'll do it. A really fast DSL speed helps...
