I keep getting a random BSOD Bugcode_USB_Drive. My computer will run fine for hours on end, even a day or two, but then will just crash.

I've uninstalled and re-installed the USB Bus Hosts, I've uninstalled all USBs that I use and re-installed them in case they were corrupted, I even system restored and restored previous system registries. All to no avail.

Can anyone help me with this, please?

  2. Update USB Drivers:
    • Ensure that all your USB drivers are up to date. You can manually check for driver updates from your device manager or consider using third-party software to update drivers.
  3. Check for Windows Updates:
    • Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date with the latest updates. Sometimes, Microsoft releases patches that address specific hardware compatibility issues.
  4. Check for Hardware Issues:
    • It's possible that there could be a hardware problem causing the BSOD. Run hardware diagnostics to check the health of your storage drives, memory modules, and USB ports.
  5. Run System File Checker (SFC) and DISM:
    • Use the System File Checker tool to scan and repair corrupted system files. Additionally, run the Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool to fix Windows component store corruption.
  6. Check Event Viewer Logs:
    • Review the Event Viewer logs to see if there are any specific error codes or events leading up to the BSOD. This can provide more insight into the root cause.
  7. Consider a Clean Windows Installation:
    • If none of the above steps work, a clean installation of Windows can sometimes resolve persistent BSOD errors, especially if they are caused by software corruption.

Once you've tried these steps, observe if the issue persists and note any specific patterns or triggers that lead to the BSOD. This information can be helpful for further troubleshooting or seeking assistance from a professional if needed.
