Recently I've been getting a STOP 0x0000001E KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED Error Message and have no idea how to diagnose it or what to look for. Also, My computer has started to shut down completely without even displaying a STOP Error Message and during start up it gets stuck on the black screen with the blinking "_" for a few minutes before doing anything.

Edit: It seems ntoskrnl.exe is the source of my BSODs.

Hi and welcome to win7forums.

Stop 0x0000001E or KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED indicates that there is not enough free space on the drive, the BIOS is incompatible or needs upgrading, or you are using a third party hardware driver that is not compatible.

ntoskrnl.exe provides the Kernel and Executive layers of the Windows NT kernel space and is responsible for various system services such as hardware virtualization, process and memory management.
