Windows 7 Red cross on internet icon ...but works anyway.

When I start up my PC I notice sometimes that the internet icon in the taskbar has a red cross over it......yet the connection is fine.

How do I stop this from happening?

Hello and welcome to the forum

During startup, this is caused simply by the service not being started yet. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do.
I know it's annoying, you're not the only one with the problem.

The only thing that would help is speeding up your startup process if at all possible.
