I have Vista Ultimate on my computer and would like to know if it is possible using Remote Desktop Connection to connect to my laptop with Vista Home Premium? and also how do I find the FQDN of the laptop?

Solution
Yes, you can use Remote Desktop Connection to connect from a computer running Windows Vista Ultimate to a laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium. However, there are certain limitations to be aware of: 1. Windows Vista Home Premium Limitations: - Windows Vista Home Premium does not have the built-in feature to host Remote Desktop sessions. This means you won't be able to connect to a Windows Vista Home Premium computer using Remote Desktop unless you upgrade it to a version that supports it, like Vista Ultimate. 2. Finding the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN): - To find the FQDN of a computer, follow these steps: - Click on the Start button, then right-click on Computer. - Select Properties. - Under the...

Finding the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN): - To find the FQDN of a computer, follow these steps: - Click on the Start button, then right-click on Computer. - Select Properties. - Under the "Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings" section, you will find the Full Computer Name. This is the FQDN of the computer. To summarize, while you can connect from Windows Vista Ultimate to Windows Vista Home Premium using Remote Desktop Connection, the Home Premium version cannot initiate Remote Desktop sessions without an upgrade to a version that supports it. Also, the FQDN of a computer can be found in the Properties section of the Computer settings.
