Windows 7 Remove Boot Menu

I need to get some help with my boot menu. I used to have my PC set up with a dual boot (XP & Windows 7). Now that I am getting used to XP mode I have removed the XP installation and reclaimed the space. That all went well. My problem is that the boot menu stills offers both O.S. at boot-up. I want the system to just boot up to the user profile selection and stop halting there. I get nervous changing anything to do with boot sectors so I would like to ask for any help on accomplishing this.

Press start orb- Type "msconfig" without the " ". Now go to the boot tab. Click the tab that says xp and delete it. Now click apply and ok. Now click restart when it says. Then it should go straight to 7.

After you have removed the XP entry, change the figure in the time out box to 0 seconds, tick Make All Boot settings Permanent, Apply, OK.

They are not really permanent - they can be changed - it just means they stick until you change them.
