I want to change the display of the directory tree.
I want it to be display on the same line.

Explorer doesn't support such a view. It is as you stated a 'tree view'. In my opinion it wouldn't be a good design decision either as with deep paths you wouldn't be able to see the whole path. Another issue is this view you want could potentially require a lot of memory to hold the view data.
